Brockton’s Walsh Will Compete in Second Pro Bout at the Great American Boxing Bash

Windham, NH [June 15, 2021] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Brockton, Massachusetts lightweight Kevin Walsh (1-0, 1 KO) will return to the ring on Friday, July 30th at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire as he takes on Homer, New York’s Zachary Burhans (pro boxing debut) in a four-round fight. The fight will be part of Night 2 of the Great American Boxing Bash.

Walsh, hailing from the same hometown as legends Rocky Marciano and Marvelous Marvin Hagler, made his pro debut in May with a first round technical knockout over New Bedford’s Henry Garcia who had previously never been stopped before. That fight was contested before an empty arena due to COVID protocols. This upcoming fight will mark Walsh’s professional debut in front of a full capacity crowd.

“It will feel good to fight in front of fans for the first time as a pro, but I have a mission and I wont let any jitters get in the way,” said Walsh. “I feel I can, and will, be the next big boxer to come out of Brockton. I was born and raised in the City of Champions. It made me who I am today.”

Burhans is an accomplished mixed martial arts fighter who has fought for some of the biggest regional MMA outfits in the northeast. An original no-holds-barred fighter who is still young at age 32, he got his start in competitive organized fighting pre-dating commission sanctioning with his first bout taking place just days following his 18th birthday.

“I have been working hard on my boxing for the past couple years and have been looking to test myself against a solid opponent like Kevin,” noted Burhans when reached for comment.
