FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Windham, NH (September 25, 2023) – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Haverhill, Massachusetts’ Nicky Tejada (6-0, 4 KO’s) will meet Tyngsboro’s Nate Balakin (6-3, 3 KO’s) in a six-round welterweight fight at the Castleton in Windham, New Hampshire on Wednesday, November 22 as part of the sixth annual Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular.

Tickets are available at www.BoxingNH.comThe event has sold out in advance each year to date, so fans are encouraged to get their tickets early.

Both fighters are coming off stoppage victories earlier this month in Portland, Maine as Tejada disposed of New York’s Tymar Miles inside a round and Balakin dropped Robert Bricks en route to a third-round TKO.

Tejada, who trains under the tutelage of Ray Hebert at the Haverhill Downtown Boxing Club, will be making a significant step up in level of opposition against the more battle tested Balakin. Earlier this year Tejada also scored a first-round TKO over Florida’s Paul Walters and earned a split decision over the previously undefeated William Frank Harrington (1-1, 1 KO) of San Diego.

“I’m very excited to be in a fight of significance in New England like this one against Balakin,” said Tejada. “Nate’s been on my radar for a long time and I have a lot of respect for him. No bad blood whatsoever, but I want to test myself against him and show everyone November 22 what I’m all about.”

As is the case with Tejada, this bout on November 22 will mark Balakin’s fourth fight of this calendar year. In June he lost a close majority decision to Connecticut’s Oscar Bonilla in Springfield and in January won a unanimous decision in a “fight of the night” candidate at the Castleton against New York’s Michael Taylor. Balakin is trained by Lowell’s Manny Farley.

“This is a spot I’ve been in before and he hasn’t so we’ll see what he’s made of,” said Balakin. “I like Nicky. He’s a tough kid. But this moment will not be too big for me. We’ll see how he handles it.”

Doors will open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm on Wednesday, November 22 at the Castleton in Windham, NH. Tickets are on sale now at www.BoxingNH.com.
