Andrii Novytskyi is Back in Melrose

Reigning WBC International Heavyweight Champion Andrii Novytskyi (14-0, 10 KO’s) will take on Peru native David Zegarra (35-12-1, 22 KO’s) in a 10-round fight on Friday May 23rd at Melrose Memorial Hall in Melrose, Massachusetts.

Novytskyi, a native of Ukraine fresh off a unanimous decision win over Mexico’s Edgar Ramirez (10-2-1, 4 KO’s) this past December on the Usyk – Fury 2 card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will be competing for the first time in the calendar year 2025.

Since turning pro in February 2023, Novytskyi has fought an astonishing 14 times in less than 2 years and has gone the 10-round distance in his two most recent fights with ease showcasing that he’s one of the best conditioned heavyweights in the world.

Zegarra is a well-traveled journeyman who has fought in 8 different countries and 3 different continents in his career. In 2021, he lost a competitive decision in a cruiserweight fight to former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Mexico.
