Long-Awaited Rematch for Perkins & Trecell on Thanksgiving Eve
Windham, NH (October 25, 2022) – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced a six-round Super Middleweight rematch to take place on Thanksgiving Eve, November 23 at The Castleton in Windham, New Hampshire as Lynn, Massachusetts’ James Perkins takes on Boston’s Aaron Trecell in a rematch of their four-round slugfest draw from 2019. A limited number of tickets remain and can be purchased at BoxingNH.com.
Perkins (8-0-1), who earlier this year won a unanimous decision in a Boston Boxing Promotions “Fight of the Year” candidate against Stephen Langlais, will look to have a victory over every man he’s ever fought if he can redeem his draw against Trecell.
“I’ve been looking forward to this rematch since the final bell sounded the last time we fought,” said Perkins. “I think I let the moment get to me the first time we fought but this time I’m going to bring the same approach I brought to my fight with Langlais and take my time, be direct and apply pressure. But if it turns into a slugfest like the first fight, I’m perfectly OK with that too as always.”
Trecell, also a mixed martial arts fighter who won via second-round TKO in his most recent fight last Friday in Wilmington, Massachusetts, claims he will be better prepared this time around than he was last time. He’s been training at the noted Sityotong facility in Somerville.
“I am super-duper excited for this re-match,” said Trecell. “The first time we fought, I feel like I wasn’t mentally prepared, and I still did well. This time I’ll be super focused and riding the momentum of good camps and good wins. He better be ready because I know I will be.”
Doors will open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm on November 23 at the Castleton. Tickets are on sale now at www.BoxingNH.com.
