Shayna Foppiano Returns to Boxing Ring on Thanksgiving Eve
Windham, NH (October 4, 2022) – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced the return of popular New England female fighter Shayna Foppiano (4-0-1, 2 KO’s) as she will take on Las Vegas, Nevada’s Leann O’Malley in a four-round super lightweight fight on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire. Tickets are available at www.BoxingNH.com.
Foppiano last fought in July of 2021 earning a first-round KO over Texas’ Vanessa Marie Grimes. Following that bout she retired from boxing before the itch to return to the ring proved to be too strong to ignore. She now trains at Sonny’s Boxing in Middleton, Massachusetts. She is managed by Joe Lake, who has worked with noteworthy fighters including Mickey Ward and Dana Rosenblatt.
“I’m very excited for my long-awaited return to the ring. My team and I will continue to work hard through camp, and I know we’ll be ready for whatever my opponent brings on fight night. I’m looking forward to showing everyone all that my team and I at Sonny’s Boxing have been working on. I’m ready to make a statement and prove that I’m here to stay. Thank you to everyone for your support in my return,” said Foppiano.
Leann O’Malley, a Pittsburgh native who now lives and trains in the combat sports hotbed of Las Vegas, began boxing after getting the urge to compete while doing cardio kickboxing classes at Xtreme Couture Gym – home of UFC legend Randy Couture. She lost her amateur debut, before winning her next six bouts and decided to turn pro. She now trains at Big Shot Boxing in Las Vegas.
“Every time a fighter steps in the ring they must do this with the confidence that they will finish the night by having their hand raised. This fight is no different for me. It will not be an easy bout, yet I feel my skills and determination will lead to me earning the victory,” said O’Malley.
Doors will open at 6 pm with first fight taking place at 7 pm on November 23 at the Castleton. Tickets are on sale now at www.BoxingNH.com.
