Someone’s ‘0’ Has Got to Go in Battle of Undefeateds

Windham, NH [December 22, 2021] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced a battle of two undefeated fighters in a Junior Welterweight match-up for Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire. Brockton, Massachusetts’ “King” Kevin Walsh (4-0, 3 KO’s) takes on Tyngsboro, Massachusetts’ “Nasty” Nate Balakin (3-0, 1 KO) in a scheduled six-round fight. Tickets are available at www.BoxingNH.com

While both fighters are undefeated, they have fought exclusively in scheduled four-round fights up to this point in their respective careers. Walsh is the more experienced fighter in terms of number of fights with four to Balakin’s three, but it is Balkin who has had more ring time with ten rounds of professional boxing on his resume. He went the distance in his first two career fights and scored his first career stoppage in the second round of his most recent bout. Walsh has just seven rounds of boxing on his record, having opened his career with three consecutive first round knockouts, and he went the distance for the first time in his most recent fight.

“This is a perfect fight for me,” said Walsh. “Nate is a tough fighter and exactly what I need at this point in my career – a true test. Neither one of us want to take a loss, so fans should expect a war. Whether it be by KO or six rounds of beautiful boxing, I plan on leaving with my hand raised.”

Both Walsh and Balakin encountered plenty of top-notch opposition in the amateur ranks prior to turning pro. Between the two, they have shared the ring with the likes of Alejandro Paulino, Brandon Higgins, Tommy O’Connell, Kenny Larson and Christian Andrade. Walsh took home wins and losses in an amateur rivalry with Balakin’s gym partner Nick Molina. Balakin holds victories over the likes of Harry Gigliotti and Ray Jay Bermudez.

“I’m super excited to get in there with another undefeated fighter,” said Balakin. “I plan on setting the pace and setting the tone of this fight. I know it’s something that the fans sure won’t want to miss.”
