WELTERWEIGHT FIGHT PROMISES NON-STOP ACTION AT WINDHAM BOXING EVENT

Windham, NH  [December 21, 2017] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Springfield, Massachusetts’ Anthony Velazquez will be making his pro debut on Saturday, January 27 at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center as he takes on Vermont’s Andre “The Finisher” Belcarris in a four-round welterweight fight.

“Turning pro is a dream come true,” said Velazquez. “I’ve dreamed of this since I was nine years old, and I can’t wait to make it a reality on January 27th.”

Velazquez is 21 years old and a graduate of Central High School in Springfield. While he has worked in the food industry, he is currently committed full-time to training and pursuing professional boxing.

Belcarris made his pro boxing debut in late 2017 on just a few days’ notice, taking on the undefeated Nick Dequattro at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut.  Despite taking the fight on short notice, without time for an adequate training camp, Belcarris pushed Dequattro to the limit in an all-out war that had the crowd on its feet and screaming from bell-to-bell before losing a close unanimous decision.

“I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to fight in New Hampshire,” said Belcarris, who is the only active pro boxer from neighboring state of Vermont. “I’m training hard and will be prepared to go the distance. The crowd won’t be disappointed.”
