Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Jarrid Digangi (5-0, 5 KO’s) will be making his first defense of his Massachusetts State Cruiserweight Championship on Friday August 29th at Melrose Memorial Hall in Melrose, Massachusetts as part of “Summer Brawl” as he takes on Boston’s Gabriel Costa. Tickets are available at www.BostonBoxingPromotions.com.
Digangi won the Massachusetts State Cruiserweight Championship in Melrose this past May in a barnburner against Leo Ladeira who retired on his stool after 4 blistering rounds of action.
He had scored a 2nd round TKO over Gabe Costa in 2024 in a fight in which the stoppage was heavily protested by Costa and his team. On August 29th, will it be repeat or revenge?
Costa is a noted upset specialist who just last year scored an upset 2nd round TKO over Steve Dunn, who had an identical 5-0, 5 KO’s record to Digangi’s entering that fight, garnering international attention for his performance in this fight which was televised worldwide as part of the Nate Diaz – Jorge Masvidal boxing match undercard. He also handed Brockton’s Chad Leoncello his first defeat in 2023 via split decision and scored a unanimous decision over Haverhill’s Harold Roy in his pro debut.
