Boston Boxing Promotions Announces Eight-Round Junior Middleweight Fight

Windham, NH [December 14, 2021] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced an eight-round fight for its next event Saturday, January 29, 2022, at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire. Revere, Massachusetts’ Travis Gambardella (7-1-2, 3 KO’s) is scheduled to take on Boston’s Mitch Louis-Charles (6-3-2, 3 KOs) in a featured Junior Middleweight match-up. Tickets are available at www.BoxingNH.com

Gambardella went 2-0 in 2021 on Boston Boxing Promotions events earning a unanimous decision in May over Brockton’s Antonio Chaves Fernandez and scoring a quick first round stoppage over Atlanta’s Eddie Gates in July. Both of those fights were scheduled for six rounds. His upcoming bout with Louis-Charles will mark his first scheduled eight-round fight. By day, Gambardella works as an Ironworker who is a member of Local Union 7.

“I view this fight as a step up in level of competition,” said Gambardella. “The one time I truly stepped up in level of opposition thus far in my career, I came up short and I lost – hence the lone loss on my record. This fight is to prove I can win at the next level and I belong at the next level.”

Mitch Louis-Charles is a hard-nosed veteran originally from Montreal, Quebec, Canada who now calls Boston his home. After having the first nine fights of his career in his native Canada, Louis-Charles made his US debut last summer on a Boston Boxing Promotions event scoring a first round TKO over Aguilando Brandao. He is the son of former Canadian Super Middleweight Champion Ali Nestor Charles and splits his time between training for fights and bouncing at night clubs in Boston’s Theatre District.

“I’m expecting Travis to come real hard at me. I’m taking this fight very seriously and I’ll let my training speak for itself with how I fight in the ring. That’ll speak more eloquently than anything else I try to say right now.”
Boston Boxing Promotions returns to the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, NH on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Doors open at 6:05 pm with first fight at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at www.BostonBoxingPromotions.com/Tickets/.
