Boxing Showcase II Fight Card Announced for Saturday

Boston, MA [October 15, 2020] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced the full fight card for its next closed-venue event, “Boxing Showcase II,” scheduled to take place this Saturday, October 17, 2020.  The event will stream in its entirety for free on the fight promotion’s YouTube page beginning at 2 pm EDT/11 am PDT.  Click here and click the “subscribe” button to receive a notification when the event goes live on Saturday afternoon.

At press time a total of 13 fights were scheduled featuring a bevy of Boston Boxing Promotions regulars along with promotional newcomers and well-known local veterans.

Kicking off the event will be a lightweight contest between Rudy Ochoa and Matt Doherty.  Ochoa (9-0, 5 KO’s), an undefeated top prospect in the lightweight division, will look for his tenth win since his professional debut in the spring of 2017.  Doherty (8-7-1, 4 KO’s), of nearby Salem, Massachusetts, presents the toughest test of Ochoa’s young career.  Doherty is a respected veteran of both the professional boxing and mixed-martial-arts circuits.

Harry “The Hitman” Gigliotti (5-1, 3 KO’s) looks to remain undefeated in 2020 with his third bout of the year.  The Haverhill, Massachusetts native defeated Fernando Perez in January before picking up a third-round technical knockout victory over Robert Bricks at the first “Boxing Showcase” this past August.  Gigliotti has won four in a row.  This Saturday he steps in the ring with Devin Christie in what will be the first six-rounder of Gigliotti’s career.

Another Haverhill standout, and training partner of Gigliotti, Joshua Raineri (1-0, 1 KO), will take part in Saturday’s event.  Raineri picked up his first win as a professional fighter at the first “Boxing Showcase” with a first-round technical knockout of Andre Belcarris.  Raineri looks to make it two-in-a-row to start his pro career, but he faces stiff competition in the form of Kyle Cusick from Fall River, Massachusetts.  Cusick will be making his pro debut in the junior middleweight contest scheduled for four rounds on Saturday afternoon.

The fighting pride of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Brandon Higgins (4-1, 3 KO’s), will be in action on Saturday when he takes on Bruno Dias in a welterweight fight scheduled for four rounds.  Higgins took home a win on the last “Boxing Showcase” in August over Devin Christie with a third-round technical knockout.  He looks to move towards bigger fights before the year is out.

West Forks, Maine’s Brandon “The Cannon” Berry (17-5-2, 11 KO’s) returns to the Boston Boxing Promotions ring for the first time since August 2018.  Berry has won his last four in a row.  This Saturday he will meet Bryan Timmons in a welterweight bout scheduled for eight rounds.

Closing out the show will be a hard-hitting, ten-round heavyweight contest featuring Daniel “The Mountain” Martz (19-9-1, 16 KO’s) and Michael Marrone (21-11, 15 KO’s).  Both athletes have competed internationally in the past with Marrone being a former world title challenger.  Both know nothing but coming forward and throwing heavy punches.  This fight promises to be a slugfest for as long as it lasts.
