Gigliotti and Higgins to Meet for Welterweight Title on Thanksgiving Eve

Windham, NH [October 22, 2020] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Haverhill, Massachusetts’ Harry “The Hitman” Gigliotti (6-1, 3 KO’s) will take on Chelmsford, Massachusetts’ Brandon Higgins (5-1, 4 KO’s) in an eight-round main event for the Merrimack Valley Welterweight Championship on Thanksgiving Eve, November 25, 2020, at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire.

Tickets for the event are being sold in groups of four, five, and six due to capacity restrictions. All groups will be socially distanced from one another, and all tickets are seated. There will be no standing room at the event. Capacity will be limited to less than one-quarter of regular attendance to meet state and federal guidelines on preventing the spread of Covid-19. Masks will be mandatory for all spectators except when eating and drinking.

“This fight pits two fan favorites from the same region against each other with neighborhood bragging rights and a belt at stake,” said Boston Boxing Promotions President Peter Czymbor. “We could’ve held off on this fight until we’re allowed 100% capacity of fans back, but who knows when that’ll be? Fighters fight, and these two want to fight each other. Fans better get their tickets ASAP. This show would sell out the Castleton during normal times, but with a limited audience of distanced groups during a pandemic, I expect these tickets to be gone incredibly quickly.”

Gigliotti trains at the Haverhill Downtown Boxing Club under the guidance of Ray Hebert and Brendon Simonds. He made his pro debut in January of last year in Windham with a first round technical knockout of Providence’s Theo Desjardin. He has won six of seven fights thus far in his pro career including a third-round technical knockout over rival Robert Bricks and a six-round split decision in a barnburner against New York’s Devin Christie. Both fights have taken place before empty arenas live-streamed on Boston Boxing Promotions’ YouTube Channel in recent months as the sport of boxing has adapted to the times of a pandemic.

“This is a fight that is long overdue. I want it and my entire fan base wants it, and I’m glad it’s finally happening,” said Gigliotti. “Higgins is a boxer-brawler and our styles will clash for a great fight. I think it goes all eight rounds, and I see myself winning a unanimous decision come fight night.”

Higgins trains at the Haverhill Inner-City Boxing Club under the tutelage of Sean Farley, just a stone’s throw away from the gym Gigliotti trains at. He made his pro debut in May of last year earning a unanimous decision over Philadelphia’s Demetris Williams on a fight card headlined by Gigliotti. Higgins has won five of six pro fights including back-to-back technical knockouts on recent events live-streamed on Boston Boxing Promotions’ YouTube Channel. The fight with Gigliotti will mark both fighters’ first eight-round bouts.

“Harry and myself are both all-or-nothing, action fighters,” said Higgins, “but at the end of the day, I see myself wearing him down and stopping him. Regardless, I will be ready to go to war for eight rounds and bring home the Merrimack Valley Welterweight Title.”

The Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular III takes place on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, NH.
