Moore Steps in to Face Higgins at Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular
Windham, NH [October 27, 2020] – A new fight has been announced for the Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular scheduled for Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire. Chelmsford, Massachusetts’ Brandon Higgins (5-1, 4 KO’s) will now battle Long Island, New York’s Shaquan Moore in a six-round contest.
Higgins was originally slated to meet Haverhill’s Harry Gigliotti (6-1, 3 KO’s) in an eight-round bout for the Merrimack Valley Welterweight Title. Gigliotti, however, withdrew over the weekend with a shoulder injury. The fight will be re-scheduled for early 2021.
“I’m going to go in there and cause chaos,” said Shaquan Moore. “Brandon Higgins should be ready for violence whether it goes one round or all six, and it will be entertaining for the fans.”
Moore is a well-traveled combat sports veteran, having competed on fight cards throughout the Northeast since 2014. In 2018, he fought in the Bellator mixed-martial-arts (MMA) cage – a global fight promotion second only to the UFC in terms of prestige. He also sports a 1-1 record on the Canadian kickboxing circuit. Moore fought veteran Laquan Lewis to a draw in a slugfest of a professional boxing debut on a Boston Boxing Promotions card earlier this month in Windham, New Hampshire. Many watching the fight on YouTube felt that the fight “stole the show.”
The bout with Lewis was Moore’s third fight in the state of New Hampshire, having competed on two separate MMA events held in Manchester in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Higgins will look to hand Moore his first loss on Granite State soil where the Long Islander is 1-0-1 with one no-contest.
“We’re ready for whatever comes our way. The opponent change doesn’t faze me much,” said Higgins. “It’s super unfortunate Harry and I won’t be fighting Thanksgiving Eve, but the table is set, and we’re ready to eat no matter the opponent. Shaquan is a super-shifty and aggressive fighter, so I expect a challenge, but it’ll be so nice to fight in front of fans again.”
The Thanksgiving Eve Boxing Spectacular III takes place on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, NH.
