Fight Card & PPV Stream Announced for Melrose Boxing Event
Melrose, MA (August 5, 2022) – Boston Boxing Promotions will debut at Melrose Memorial Hall in Melrose, MA on Saturday, August 13, 2022, with a night of professional boxing entitled “Parade of Champions.” Doors are scheduled to open at 5 pm EDT with first fight taking place at 6 pm EDT. Tickets are available at www.BostonBoxingPromotions.com/Tickets/. The event will also be streamed live in its entirety at www.CombatSportsNow.com on a pay-per-view basis.
Earlier today, the fight promotion announced the full fight card for the event.
In the headline fight of the evening, Chelmsford, MA’s Brandon Higgins (8-2, 5 KO’s) is scheduled to take on Fall River, MA’s Dustin Reinhold (7-5, 3 KO’s) in a six-round welterweight contest. The bout will be a rematch of their first encounter last November in Windham, NH. Higgins won that fight via majority decision.
Salem, MA’s Kenny Larson (4-0, 4 KO’s) will meet Berwick, ME’s Ryan Clark (2-1, 1 KO) in another six-round welterweight bout. Larson has stopped all four of his previous opponents since making his professional debut last November. Clark will look to bounce back from the first loss of his career last April.
Nicky Tejada (1-0, 1 KO) of Haverhill, MA makes his home-state pro debut against Portland, ME’s Carl Langston (0-0). Tejada won his pro debut earlier this summer in Verona, NY on a card that was part of International Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Weekend. Langston is a longtime veteran of the New England mixed-martial-arts and kickboxing circuit making his boxing debut.
In a six-round super middleweight contest, Lynn, MA’s James Perkins (8-0-1, 6 KO’s) faces David Tubbs (5-1, 5 KO’s) of Ventura, CA. Perkins, coming off a “New England Fight of the Year” candidate earlier this year against Stephen Langlais (4-2, 3 KO’s), which he won via unanimous decision, will be fighting in his home state of MA for the first time since his pro debut in 2019. Tubbs is a perfect 5-0 on Boston Boxing Promotions cards with five knockouts to his credit.
In a bout with international flavor, undefeated prospect Juan Carrillo (7-0, 5 KO’s) of Baranquilla, Columbia is scheduled to take on Victor Fonseca (18-11-1, 14 KO’s) of Tijuana, Mexico in an eight-round light heavyweight encounter.
Boston’s Carlos Gongora (20-1, 15 KO’s) will face Oscar Riojas (28-15-1, 16 KO’s) of Laredo, TX in an eight-round super middleweight contest. Gongora is the former IBO World Super Middleweight Champion and is currently ranked number-nine in the world.
Also featured on the card will be knockout artist Danny Robles (7-2-1, 5 KO’s) and Kody Koboski (2-1, 2 KO’s), both of Oxnard, CA, in separate bouts.
