FIGHT WEEK KICKS OFF IN HYANNIS

Hyannis, Massachusetts [August 3, 2015] – It’s Fight Week in Hyannis, as this Saturday, August 8th Boston Boxing Promotions brings pro boxing back to Cape Cod for the first time in nearly a decade. While fight week will peak with the actual fights themselves Saturday night at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC), there are plenty of festivities surrounding the fights all week long in Hyannis.

Here is a look at the fight week schedule:

Friday, August 7th 4PM – The official weigh-ins for Saturday night’s fights will take place at Trader Ed’s inside the beautiful Hyannis Marina at 1 Willow Street in Hyannis, MA. All fighters will step on the scales for the official weigh-in and face off for a stare-down photo prior to standing face to face inside the ring the following night. All fighters will be on hand and available for interviews from members of the media and autographs and pictures for fans. The weigh-in will be conducted by the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission.

Saturday, August 7th 6PM Doors/7PM first fight – A full slate of five professional boxing matches will begin at 7 PM at the HYCC: Jesse Barboza vs. Jesse Oltmanns – eight-rounds for the Northeast Heavyweight Championship; Paul Gonsalves vs. Rafael Valenzuela – eight-rounds light heavyweights; Vinnie Carita vs. Jose Humberto Corral – eight-rounds cruiserweights; Tolan Tascoe vs. Lionel Young – four-rounds middleweights; and Malik Jackson vs. Oscar Diaz – four-rounds welterweights. The event is all-ages and will be very family-friendly.

Post-Fight Party – The official after-party of “Championship Boxing in Hyannis” will take place at nearby Torino Restaurant & Bar located at 415 Main St. in Hyannis. After the fights, head over to Torino Restaurant & Bar to enjoy some nice food and drink. Most fighters from the show are scheduled to be on hand. If you see them, but them a drink! They’ve trained hard and sacrificed a lot to fight!

The August 8, 2015 event will be presented by Boston Boxing Promotions. It will be the first professional boxing event held in Hyannis since 2006. General admission tickets are $40 and are on sale now at www.CapeCodBoxing.com. Fans are urged to purchase tickets early due to limited availability.
