Gigliotti and Higgins to Meet for Welterweight Title at the Great American Boxing Bash

Windham, NH [May 11, 2021] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced its main event for night one of the three-night “Great American Boxing Bash.”  On Friday, July 23rd at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire, Haverhill, Massachusetts’ Harry “The Hitman” Gigliotti (7-2, 3 KO’s) will take on Chelmsford, Massachusetts’ Brandon Higgins (7-1, 5 KO’s) in an eight-round fight for the Merrimack Valley Welterweight Championship.

“The question we’ve been getting from fans for nearly two years is, ‘who would win a fight between Harry Gigliotti and Brandon Higgins,’” noted Boston Boxing Promotions President Peter Czymbor.

“Now, on July 23rd we will finally find out.”

Gigliotti and Higgins are well acquainted with each other. They train just a few blocks from each other with Gigliotti working with Ray Hebert at the Haverhill Downtown Boxing Club and Higgins under the tutelage of Sean Farley at the nearby Haverhill Inner-City Boxing Club.

They have fought on the same card seven times in their respective careers and have four common opponents.  This is the first time either man has competed in a title fight as a professional.

“This is a fight that is long overdue and needs to happen,” said Haverhill’s Gigliotti.  “This a great local rivalry, and I plan on putting Higgins in his place and getting my hand raised while getting the Merrimack Valley Welterweight Title belt strapped around my waist.”

Chelmsford’s Higgins is just as confident.

“I think Harry is a very skilled fighter and tough fighter, but my strength, conditioning and power is just on another level,” said Higgins.  “I don’t think this fight will go the distance, and I see myself stopping him by the fifth round.”
