MULTI-SPORT PROSPECT BULGER TO MAKE MAINE DEBUT AT NEF 54

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Portland, Maine (August 12, 2023) – New England Fights and Boston Boxing Promotions present “NEF 54: A Fight at the Opera” on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Merrill Auditorium in Portland.  A full pro boxing card will take place beginning at 5 pm immediately followed by a full MMA card.  Earlier today, Boston Boxing Promotions announced the addition of a professional boxing middleweight bout to the card.  Michael Bulger will meet Demetris Williams in a match scheduled for four rounds.

Undefeated Michael Bulger will put his thus far perfect pro boxing record of 3-0 (3 KO’s) on the line on September 2^nd in what will be his first fight as a professional in Maine.  It is fitting that both a cage and a ring will be on the stage during his fight as Bulger, a native of Medford, Massachusetts, competes as a professional in both boxing and MMA.  He is also undefeated in MMA with a pro record of 2-0.

Bulger has never been out of the first round during his time as a professional boxer.  He has knocked out all three of his previous opponents on Boston Boxing Promotions cards.  Bulger made his pro boxing debut during the COVID-19 pandemic on a closed-venue event at Southpaw Boxing gym in Windham, New Hampshire.

Demetris Williams will be the most experienced opponent Bulger has stepped in the ring with to date.  Williams is a hard-nosed veteran from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a pro boxing career stretching back to 2016.  This will be his fourth appearance in a Boston Boxing Promotions ring since 2018.
