The American Nightmare Returns to the Boxing Ring in New Bedford
New Bedford, Massachusetts [October 4, 2016] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Pembroke’s Vinnie Carita (14-1-1, 13 KO’s) will be fighting on Saturday, November 12th at New Bedford High School in New Bedford, Massachusetts. His opponent will be announced shortly.
Carita is riding a six-fight winning streak. This current streak comes after suffering a draw which was preceded by a four-fight winning streak. His only career defeat occurred in 2006 at the age of 21. He has been unbeaten for nearly the past decade, and is looking for a title shot in 2017.
“I’m excited to be back at home fighting in Massachusetts,” said Carita, who works as a courthouse officer in Brockton, “I expect to see a lot of friends and family in the crowd on November 12th, and I know this is shaping up to a be a great fight card for the excellent sports fans in New Bedford.”
Carita fought on two shows promoted by Boston Boxing Promotions in 2015 going 2-0, 1 KO over tough journeyman Jose Humberto Corral and Rafael Valenzuela. In 2016, he’s traveled as far as Indiana and Iowa for fights and has scored a knockout in each of those states respectively in the last calendar year. He also scored a second round knockout over Mexico’s Francisco Mireles earlier this year in Lewiston, Maine in what has been his only New England appearance of 2016.
