Zorrilla Returns to Boxing Ring in Junior Welterweight Fight Against Mauras

Windham, NH [January 3, 2020] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Lynn, Massachusetts-based Adalberto Zorrilla (7-2, 7 KO’s) will return to the ring after a layoff of over three years to take on Lawrence, Massachusetts’ Agustine Mauras (6-6-3, 3 KO’s) on Friday, January 31st at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire.

Zorrilla will not only be fighting for the first time in over three years, but will be moving up four different weight classes from the 122-pound bantamweight division to the 140-pound junior welterweight limit.

“It may be my first time fighting at 140 pounds, but I feel comfortable in my workouts and sparring,” said Zorrilla through a translator.  “I know my opponent is a warrior in the ring, but I am ready to take that warrior down. I’m ready to show the world that I can be an elite 140 pound fighter.”

Agustine Mauras is a battle-tested veteran who will be competing on a Boston Boxing Promotions event for the first time since 2013. He is a former challenger for the New England Junior Lightweight Title and has competed at prestigious venues like Madison Square Garden.

“I’m extremely happy this fight was made,” said Mauras’ trainer Sean Farley.  “Zorilla is an interesting opponent for Agustine and a good opponent, but whether it be by knockout or decision, he’s going to come up short in an exciting fight on January 31st.”

“I do this for my family, and I put family over everything. They give me strength from another dimension,” said Mauras.
