Hyannis, Massachusetts [November 24, 2015] – Boston Boxing Promotions returns to Hyannis this Saturday night with an evening of professional boxing on Cape Cod. The show will be held at Barnstable High School and the full fight card has been announced.

In the main event of the evening, Hyannis’ own Jesse Barboza (10-1-1, 6 KO’s) will meet Mexico’s Francisco Mireles (17-9, 5 KO’s) in an eight-round heavyweight fight. In August, Barboza won the Northeast Heavyweight Championship in his hometown with a stunning first-round KO of Pennsylvania’s Jesse Oltmanns Against Mireles, Barboza has a crafty veteran opposing him who has fought on national stages before including an appearance on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.

“I only want to fight guys with winning records who have experience and in fights that’ll move me up the rankings if I win,” Barboza said recently, “I couldn’t be happier to finish 2015 with a fight in my hometown for the second time in a year.”

Barboza, who has been invited to join WBC World Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder (35-0, 34 KO’s) in training camp, hopes to finish 2015 off with a bang in preparation for some very big fights in 2016, including the possibility of bringing big time championship boxing back to Cape Cod next summer.

In the co-feature, Harwich’s Paul Gonsalves (8-7-1, 4 KO’s) takes on tough veteran Jose Humberto Corral (19-19, 12 KO’s) in an eight-round light heavyweight bout. Both fighters are coming off wins. Gonsalves last August in Hyannis and Corral recently with a decision win in Mexico.

“Jose Humberto Corral is known as a tough guy who is slick and punches don’t seem to bother him,” Gonsalves said, “I know this fight could go the distance, but if the opportunity arises I’d like to knock him out.”

Gonsalves, like Barboza, is fighting for the second time in Cape Cod in his professional boxing career.

“The show last summer at the HYCC was great. I hope the community comes out and supports us again this Saturday so we can bring some bigger shows to the Cape next year,” he said recently.

Also on the card, Pembroke’s Vinnie Carita (10-1-1, 9 KO’s) takes on Rafael Valenzuela (9-6, 2 KO’s) in an 8 round cruiserweight fight. Carita fought in Cape Cod last Auust on a Boston Boxing Promotions event along with Barboza and Gonsalves and was forced to win for the first time in his career on the scorecards and not by knockout.

“It was a learning experience going the full eight rounds last time. But on these shows in Cape Cod, the fans want tough, competitive fights and I’m more than happy to give that to them. But this time, I’m gunning for the knockout. If it goes eight rounds, it goes eight rounds. But I want to look impressive and give the fans something to remember,” Carita said.

Rounding out the card, New Jersey’s Malik Jackson meets New York’s Bryan “The Brick” Abraham. Last summer in Hyannis, Malik Jackson fought and knocked his opponent out cold, and out of the ring, in one of the most brutal knockouts of 2015. His opponent, Abraham, is a renown power puncher who has never won a fight in any other fashion than KO – including big knockouts of previously undefeated prospects like New Bedford’s Jonathan Vazquez (4-0 at the time) and Connecticut’s Dominic Desanto (5-0 at the time).

Also, New Jersey’s Tolan Tascoe takes on Brazilian native Paulo Desouza in a four-round junior middleweight fight. Both fighters are known for being in action packed and competitive fights. No one expects this fight to be anything less than a barn burner.

Tickets are available for order online at www.CapeCodBoxing.com, and tickets will also be available (cash only) at the door on Saturday night beginning at 6:00 pm.

Boston Boxing Promotions’ first foray into Cape Cod was a success over the summer. The event featured five professional boxing matches, was attended by a capacity crowd of over 800 spectators and featured two knockouts that will be in consideration for KO of the year. Full length video of the bouts from that night are available online at www.CapeCodBoxing.com in anticipation of Boxing’s returning to Cape Cod on November 28th.
