THREE-FIGHT MAIN CARD SET FOR NOVEMBER 28 BOXING EVENT IN HYANNIS
Hyannis, Massachusetts [November 5, 2015] – The main portion of the card is set for the upcoming Boston Boxing Promotions event November 28th at Barnstable High School in Hyannis, MA. In the main event of the evening, Northeast Heavyweight Champion and Hyannis resident Jesse Barboza (10-1-1, 6 KO’s) will meet tough Mexican veteran Francisco Mireles (17-9, 5 KO’s) in an eight-round fight.
Another Cape Cod native in Harwich’s Paul Gonsalves will see action on the card in an eight-round light heavyweight fight. Gonsalves (8-7-1, 4 KO’s) will meet former WBC regional title challenger Jose Humberto Corral (19-19, 12 KO’s) in a bout that will serve as the co-feature of the evening. Also, Pembroke cruiserweight Vinnie Carita (10-1-1, 9 KO’s) will return to Hyannis for his second fight in a row as he takes on Rafael Valenzuela (8-6, 1 KO) in a schedule eight-round fight.
All of these bouts are designed to have fighters with comparable records fighting each other in evenly-matched, competitive bouts. The last Boston Boxing Promotions event in Hyannis featured two candidates for “Knockout of the Year” as Jesse Barboza scored a scintillating first-round KO over Pennsylvania’s Jesse Oltmanns to earn the Northeast Heavyweight Title, and New Jersey’s Malik Jackson scored a highlight reel third-round KO over Connecticut’s Oscar Diaz that sent him through the ropes and crashing onto the gymnasium floor. The event was attended by over 800 people and accrued press coverage all across the region and country.
Additional preliminary bouts will be announced soon.
