Hyannis, Massachusetts [October 21, 2015] – Cape Cod light heavyweight Paul Gonsalves (8-7-1, 4 KO’s) will return to the ring on Saturday, November 28th at Barnstable High School as he takes on veteran Jose Humberto Corral (19-19, 12 KO’s) in an eight-round fight. This fight will serve as the co-feature to the Jesse Barboza – Francisco Mireles main event. Tickets are available at CapeCodBoxing.com.

Gonsalves was victorious in his most recent bout this past August in Hyannis against Mexico’s Rafael Valenzuela via first round TKO. The bout marked the Harwich native’s first fight in his home region of Cape Cod as a professional boxer.

Gonsalves is a savvy ring veteran who has previously fought on national stages such as his close ESPN televised decision loss to the undefeated Mike Lee. He has fought in venues as prestigious as Madison Square Garden and Mohegan Sun Casino.

“Just happy to be fighting for the second time in my home,” said Gonsalves, “looking forward to put on a great show against a tough guy (despite his looks) that is coming off a win and before that went all eight rounds with the tough Vinnie Carita.”

Jose Humberto Corral is also coming off a victory earning a unanimous decision in his most recent outing against Francisco Rubio in Mexico in September. Corral has twice challenged for regional WBC titles and was a member of the Mexican national team as an amateur. He has previously shared the ring with current WBC USNBC Cruiserweight champion Chris Traietti, former WBO middleweight champion Peter Quillen and former light heavyweight title challenger Ismayl Sillah.

“I love Massachusetts,” said Jose Humberto Corral recently through a translator, “I love the Red Sox and I love to fight. I look forward to November in Cape Cod.”
