Hyannis, Massachusetts [October 16, 2015] – Boston Boxing Promotions presents the return of Northeast Heavyweight Champion Jesse Barboza (10-1-1, 6 KO’s) as he returns to the ring in his hometown of Hyannis, MA on Saturday, November 28th at Barnstable High School to take on veteran Francisco Mireles (17-9, 5 KO’s) in an eight-round heavyweight fight.

“I want to stay active and fight tough fighters with good winning records”, Barboza said, “and I’m so glad to be fighting for the second time in a row in my hometown. I knew back in August when I fought in Cape Cod that the community would be receptive to pro boxing and I’m glad we’re coming back.”

Mireles, a surprisingly agile 270 pound athlete, has been in the ring with some of the sport’s best including former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs, former Cuban national champion Glendy Hernandez and former world title challenger Lateef Kayode. He’s also well traveled and has fought at a variety of interesting venues including Coliseo Angel ‘Cholo’ Espada in Puerto Rico, Magic City Casino in Florida and The Playboy Mansion in California.

“I look forward to coming to the United States to fight Barboza”, said the Spanish speaking and Mexican born Mireles, “I love when people see me and realize that despite my big belly, I’m light on my feet and have boxing ability. People can boo me on the way in, but they’ll cheer me on the way out. Jesse better be ready.”
