Army Veteran Marino to Make Pro Boxing Debut at Fall Brawl

Windham, NH [September 6, 2021] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that mixed-martial-arts standout Brian “BJ” Marino will be making his professional boxing debut on Friday, September 24th at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire as he takes on Ticonderoga, New York’s Mike Taylor in a four-round super middleweight bout as part of the “Fall Brawl” event.

Marino, 6-1 as a professional fighter in mixed-martial-arts, is a native of North Attleboro, Massachusetts and a former Sergeant in the US Army. He currently works as a corrections officer.

“I must have been a gladiator in a past life,” said Marino laughing. “I just love to fight in front of a crowd. I feed off the energy of the crowd and having done MMA for over a decade, it’s time to change things up a bit. I never want to be anything close to average in life and this will keep things interesting.”

The man standing across from him on fight night, Mike Taylor, shares a similar view on life. A pro MMA fighter turned pro boxer himself, Taylor shares a love of hand-to-hand combat.

“I have lot of respect for my opponent and his service to our country. However, on September 24th I’ll be setting that respect aside and meeting him in the center of the ring. I think I can avoid his power in the early goings and knock him out in the later rounds. I’m coming to leave an impression,” said Taylor.
