Former Teammates to Square Off at Boxing Superstars

Windham, NH [March 7, 2022] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that Fall River, Massachusetts’ Kyle Cusick (4-1, 1 KO’s) will meet Swansea, Massachusetts’ Anthony Andreozzi (1-2, 1 KO) in a four-round middleweight fight on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire.

This battle of two of the Bay State’s toughest South Coast fighters pits Cusick, who trains with Libby Medeiros at the PAL Gym in Fall River, against Andreozzi, who trains with Aaron Bernardo at Punishment Striking Systems in Swansea.

Cusick began his pro career training out of Punishment Striking Systems with Bernardo before moving back to his original trainer Medeiros, who he had previously trained with as an amateur. During their time together at Punishment Striking Systems, Cusick and Andreozzi did train together.

“I’ve got nothing but respect for all the fighters out of that gym. However, I’ll let my fighting inside the ring speak for me. Talk’s cheap. Fighters fight. We’ll see April 22nd,” said Cusick.

Andreozzi, who has twice fought in New Hampshire before, will be competing at the Castleton in Windham for the first time. In his most recent outing, he scored a second round TKO over Castleton veteran Robert Bricks last month in Framingham, Massachusetts. Cusick earned a majority decision in his most recent bout against Eddie Gates on Thanksgiving Eve.

“I absolutely love this fight. We know each other pretty well as former teammates and sparring partners. This fight’s been on my radar since Kyle’s departure from our gym. I expect it to be a fan-friendly banger. Kyle has a great forward pressure style, whereas I can move in any direction while still landing my shots where and when I want to. He’s going to try right from the get go to set a pace and get into a rhythm. My job from the first bell will be to interrupt that rhythm and break him down until I find the opening needed,” said Andreozzi.

“Any split from a team is filled with emotions on both sides. Things get said and done. At the end of the day actions have consequences. On April 22, I’ll be those consequences. We like to say it ain’t personal, it’s just punishment….but this one might be up for debate,” Andreozzi continued.

Boxing Superstars takes place at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, NH on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 7 pm. Tickets are on sale now at www.BostonBoxingPromotions.com/Tickets/.
