Heavyweights Will Clash at Great American Boxing Bash in Windham, NH

Windham, NH [June 24, 2021] – Boston Boxing Promotions has announced that undefeated heavyweight James Torney (4-0, 4 KO’s) will be in action on Friday August 6th at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire as he takes on Houston, Texas’ Thomas Hawkins (4-6, 1 KO) in a four-round heavyweight special attraction. The bout will take place as part of Night 3 of “The Great American Boxing Bash.”

Torney, at a towering 6’9,” is a former basketball standout at Braintree High School. Since turning professional as a boxer late last year, he has never seen the second round. He has spent time as a sparring partner for former WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder as he gets ready to take on another colossal competitor in current heavyweight king Tyson Fury.

“I’m looking forward to fighting a normally durable opponent like Thomas Hawkins, but I’m also looking forward to securing another knockout victory,” exclaimed Torney.

Hawkins represents the most stern test of Torney’s young career. A ten fight pro veteran, the slick southpaw has been in against nothing but steel. His last five opponents combined sport a record of 28-1.

“I am motivated. Jim Torney is a big strong real fighter and I’m focused. I see this being a great boxing match. Possibly going the distance. But anything can happen. In the heavyweight division, it only takes 1 punch,” said Hawkins.
