Hyannis, Massachusetts [July 27, 2015] – Pembroke’s Vinnie Carita (9-1-1, 9 KO’s) will still be in action on Saturday, August 8th at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center (HYCC) as part of the Boston Boxing Promotions event headlined by the Northeast Heavyweight Championship fight between Hyannis’ Jesse Barboza (9-1-1, 5 KO’s) vs. Jesse Oltmanns (10-5, 7 KO’s). Carita, however, will now have to pick on someone his own size.

Originally scheduled to fight super heavyweight Francisco Mireles, Carita will now be taking on Mireles’ teammate Jose Humberto Corral (18-18, 12 KO’s) in an eight-round cruiserweight fight. Mireles withdrew from the fight due to a family situation and hopes to reschedule the fight for this fall.

“These things happen,” said Carita. “I’m just glad a replacement was found so quickly. He’s a tough guy and a much different style than Mireles. He has no quit in him, so I’m preparing for a war”

Jose Humberto Corral is a former member of the Mexican national boxing team as an amateur. As a pro, he has fought some of the world’s best, including former WBO middleweight champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillen, former world title challenger Ismayl Sillah and Juan De La Rosa of boxing television reality series The Contender.

Corral most recently fought Quincy’s formerly world-rated cruiserweight Chris Traietti.

The August 8, 2015 event will be presented by Boston Boxing Promotions. It will be the first professional boxing event held in Hyannis since 2006. General admission tickets are $40 and are on sale now at www.CapeCodBoxing.com. Fans are urged to purchase tickets early due to limited availability. Additional bouts to be announced in the weeks to come.
